Fasting, Exams & Flowers

I'm currently on my second 3-day regular fast. It's been great and this can only get better. I learned so many things about God, prayer and of course, fasting. My sisters and I (along with many other youths of our church) camped in at our church yesterday. It was fun, most of us were students of the School of Discipleship and were rushing to finish our homework for the following day (which is today). It was the perfect opportunity to fellowship with one another--worshiping God, and singing Him praises. We slept at around midnight because our devotional dragged on (oh the wonderful movement of the Holy Spirit) until so. I had an exam early today (which, I can say I wasn't that prepared to take) which resulted in a much more positive note than what I expected. Although I can't know for sure--they haven't even checked our papers yet--but I'm honestly not very anxious about it. Praise God!

And to share my peace, I'm going to post pictures I found in our pc (they're suppose to be for my high school paper) ENJOY!

Freedom Fridays #1: Freedom to Serve My Lord

Freedom FridaysPeople often ask me why I stick to the rules too much (It's hard to believe but it really does happen) and I just smile and tell them "Because I'm free to do just that." Now people nowadays, (especially young people) think that freedom is the absence of limitations/rules or living a life without restrains. But it's much more than that. If you're thinking being a rebel makes you free then you're free to think just that (yes, i notice I'm mentioning "free" quite alot in this post). But if you open your eyes, then you'll see you're really just a prisoner.

There was a time in my life when I failed to grasp the concept of liberty. I thought that if I can do anything I want, then I am free. But I've come a long way from those thoughts (if I may say so myself) and realized that the way I thought before made me a slave--a slave to the world. Because that's how the world looks at freedom, and I so eagerly adapted that thought. And I admit, I did that to be accepted. I rebelled (not that much, whew!) because of the "freedom" I yearned for, but it resulted to me being slave to the world. Sigh.

It's kind of ironic how those things they tell me I should be free to do are things that only would only enslave me. Meanwhile, I'm filled with joy because I feel no burden with me--It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.” My Savior set me free and I am now free to serve my God. Sin will never again oppress me!

Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. - 2 Cor 3:17

Just Too Strong To Kill

I admit it's not such a great day today. Some may even call it bad but you know what? I'm happy and I will rejoice for the Lord gave me this day. He's paid ransom for all my short-comings and I'm comforted by the thought that He's with me through everything--the great things and the less than pleasant. People have tried to discourage me or stop me from serving my God one too many times, but I'm thankful that my Lord has sustained me! People tell me I'm just too nice (can you imagine me being nice? - hardly.) that I should let lose for a little while, enjoy my freedom. And my retort? I have already lost it (sin, i mean) and am enjoying my freedom from it! The world can give me everything--booze, sex, friends but that's not what I need nor what I'm looking for. They can never give me what my soul so desperately requires--salvation. So for all it's worth, you can keep your pleasures and I'll keep my purity. And although I may be on the better end in all of this, I have hope for you. That you too will find the light amidst the darkness.

So heck you can call me "kill joy" all you want but I'm not stopping. This joy in me is just too strong to "kill" and I've decided to give Him my all. I hope you join me. I'm telling you, rejecting the bad-to-start-with is just a small price to pay for what's waiting in store for those who wait upon Him.

Now all I have, I count it all as lost. But to know You; to carry the cross. Knowing I'm found in the light of the aftermath.
